Human & Animal ethics policy
The European Chemistry and Biotechnology Journal (EUCHEMBIOJ) requires that all research involving human participants, human biological materials, or animals be conducted in accordance with internationally accepted ethical standards.
Research Involving Human Participants
For studies involving human participants, authors must ensure that:
- The research was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and relevant international ethical guidelines;
- Approval was obtained from an appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB) prior to the start of the study;
- Informed consent was obtained from all participants;
- Participant privacy, confidentiality, and dignity were fully protected.
Manuscripts must clearly state:

- The approval number and date;
- The informed consent procedure.
If ethics approval was not required, authors must explicitly state the reason.
Research Involving Animals
For studies involving animals, authors must confirm that:
- All experimental procedures complied with relevant institutional, national, and international animal welfare regulations;
- Research protocols were approved by an appropriate animal ethics committee;
- Measures were taken to minimize animal suffering and distress.
Authors are encouraged to follow internationally recognized guidelines, such as:
- The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals;
- International Council for Laboratory Animal Science (ICLAS) guidelines;
- International Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Animals.
Manuscripts must include a clear statement describing ethical approval and animal welfare considerations.
Editorial Review and Verification
The editorial office may request documentation of ethics committee approval or informed consent at any stage of the review or publication process.
Failure to comply with ethical requirements may result in rejection of the manuscript or post-publication corrective actions.
