Corrections & Retractions policy

The European Chemistry and Biotechnology Journal (EUCHEMBIOJ) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in published articles, the journal follows internationally accepted standards to correct the literature in a transparent and responsible manner.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when an article contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings, interpretations, or conclusions of the work. Examples include minor factual errors, typographical mistakes, or inaccuracies in figures, tables, or author information.

Corrections are clearly linked to the original article and are published promptly to ensure transparency.

Retractions

A retraction may be issued when an article is found to be seriously flawed or unreliable due to, but not limited to:

  • Research misconduct, such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or falsification;
  • Major methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the results or conclusions;
  • Redundant or duplicate publication;
  • Unethical research practices or serious violations of publication ethics.

Retracted articles remain accessible to readers, but are clearly identified as retracted, with an accompanying retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction.

Expressions of Concern

An expression of concern may be published when serious doubts have been raised about the integrity of an article, but the available information is insufficient to make a final decision, or when an investigation is ongoing.

Expressions of concern are linked to the original article and updated if further information becomes available.

Editorial Process and Decision-Making

Decisions regarding corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are made by the editorial office in consultation with the Editor-in-Chief and, when appropriate, independent editors or external experts.

Authors are informed and given an opportunity to respond during the evaluation process.

Post-Publication Responsibility

Authors are expected to promptly notify the editorial office if they discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work and to cooperate fully in any corrective actions.

Ethical Framework

All corrective actions are conducted in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), with due regard to fairness, confidentiality, and transparency.
