Peer review policy

The European Chemistry and Biotechnology Journal (EUCHEMBIOJ) applies a double-blind peer review process to ensure the scientific quality, integrity, and objectivity of all published articles.

Initial Editorial Assessment

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to evaluate their suitability for the journal’s scope, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to submission guidelines.

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without external review. Authors should follow reporting guidelines.

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent external reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected based on academic competence and absence of conflicts of interest.

Editorial Decision-Making

Based on the reviewers’ reports and recommendations, the handling editor makes a preliminary decision. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief.

In cases of conflicting reviewer recommendations, additional reviewers may be consulted.

Revision Process

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers’ comments. Revised manuscripts may be subject to further review if deemed necessary by the editors.

Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the review process where appropriate.

Post-Acceptance Processing

Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and layout preparation. Authors are given the opportunity to review proofs prior to publication to correct minor errors.
